Discovery Hotels & Resorts Joins Global Efforts to Support Earth Hour

Discovery Hotels & Resorts is pleased to announce its participation in Earth Hour 2023, a global initiative that aims to raise awareness about climate change and promote sustainable practices. The event will be held at four hotel units; Hotel Borobudur Jakarta, Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel Bali, Discovery Ancol, and Palace Hotel Cipanas.

On Saturday, March 25th, from 8:30 p.m local time, the hotel group will turn off all non-essential lights in its public areas, including the lobby, restaurants, and bars, as well as in guest rooms where guests have given their consent. The hotel will also encourage its guests to join the effort by switching off their lights and unplugging non-essential appliances during this time. “Earth Hour is an opportunity for us to demonstrate our commitment to environmental sustainability and inspire our guests, employees, and community to do the same,” said Angundjaja, President Director.

Along with Artha Graha Peduli, Discovery Hotels & Resorts is a leader in sustainable hospitality, and the hotel has implemented several initiatives to reduce its environmental footprint, including; installing energy-efficient lighting systems, using eco-friendly cleaning products, reducing food waste through composting and donations to local charities, and providing guests with bicycles and promoting eco-friendly transportation options.

By participating in this global movement, we hope to raise awareness about the impact of climate change and encourage everyone to take action to protect our planet.
