JIHD was incorporated in November 1969 and in March 1974, it completed the construction of Hotel Borobudur Jakarta. The Company was listed on the Jakarta Stock Exchange (currently the Indonesia Stock Exchange) in 1984 and was among the first 24 companies listed in Indonesia. In 1991, JIHD acquired PT Danayasa Arthatama, the owner and main developer of the Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD). This acquisition has changed JIHD's corporate status from a single asset/hotel owner to a mixed-use property developers, ranging from hotels to commercial offices, shopping centers, residential, and serviced apartments. Line of Business JIHD is engaged in the business of hotels, holds investment in shares of stocks of property development companies in the SCBD, hotels management and telecommunications. The subsidiaries, consist of PT Danayasa Arthatama Tbk (DA), PT Jakarta International Hotels Management (JIHM), PT First Jakarta International (FJI), PT Dharma Harapan Raya (DHR) and PT Panduneka Sejahtera. DA is currently holding a land bank in the SCBD. The SCBD is a mixed-use development and comprises 25 individual lots covering 43.6 ha in the Golden Triangle of Jakarta. DA has been structured so that most of the lots are represented by a subsidiary, providing the flexibility needed to bring in joint-venture partners for separate lots and to adopt a different business approach (investment or trading) to each lot. The SCBD project is in the strongest position of all Jakarta's commercial property developments and has the five elements necessary for successful future : - a conherent master plan offered by a master developer - a suitable property mix with hotel, retail and condominium properties complementing the offices towers - critical mass in terms of the development's size and shape - a strategic location (beside JakArta's main four-way road interchange), and - excellent internal infrastructure.
FJI owns the Indonesia Stock Exchange Building (formerly Jakarta Stock Exchange Building), located on Lot 2 of the SCBD, which consists of two 32 storey towers connected by a podium in the center. DHR, also known as Discovery Hotels & Resorts, was established in 1998. It provides management services and other services in the hotel sector. The subsidiaries of DA are property developers and owners of buildings, apartments, shopping centers, offices, hotel facilities within the SCBD, and telecommunication services provider within the vicinity of SCBD. PT Artha Telekomindo (Arthatel), is the company developing all IT facilities and telecommunication networks within the SCBD and currently is expanding its services outside the SCBD. PT Pacific Place Jakarta (PPJ), is the owner of One Pacific Place, a mixed-use development project located on Lots 3 & 5 of the SCBD. The development comprises of 75,000 sqm of shopping mall, 80 units of exclusive strata-title apartments, 20,000 sqm of office spaces, and a five-star boutique hotel and serviced apartments, managed by The Ritz-Carlton.
